Diagnosing Fibromyalgia.
Fibromyalgia is a chronic condition of widespread pain that affect muscles, joints, ligaments and tendons.
Based on the guidelines from the American College of Rheumatology, fibromyalgia is diagnosed based on your history, in particular complaints of :
- Widespread pain and/ or joint pains lasting at least 3 months.
- Tenderness when pressure is applied at 11 or more of the 18 indicated sites.
- There are no other possible problems that can explain your symptoms.
